SAVE THE GLOBE: Deadline March 18th
We at PlayShakespeare.com have always been great supporters of Shakespeare and Shakespeare in performance. If you're unaware of the fact there's a proposal underway to convert an old military fort in New York to an exact replica of the Globe Theatre, then you should check this out.

In New York Harbor stands a decaying military fort, built to defend America against the British in the War of 1812, and it happens to have the identical blueprint as Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. In the spirit of placing the Statue of Liberty onto Fort Wood, the opportunity has arisen to create a destination where we celebrate our common cultural heritage: the New Globe for the New World.

Join Judi Dench, Robin Williams, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Kate Winslet, Ralph Fiennes, Woody Allen, David Bowie and thousands more on New Globe petition!

The National Park Service intends to eliminate our proposal to re-imagine the decaying national monument into a vibrant educational and cultural center. Help us reach our goal of 10,000 public comments by deadline March 18th!

The 60-day public comment period ends soon, so please CLICK THE LINK BELOW to urge the NPS to approve our historically sensitive, culturally thrilling, and educationally valuable adaptive reuse of the monument. It only takes two minutes!
