Lord Audley is an old English nobleman who accompanies the Prince of Wales to the war.
He is taken aback by the King’s refusal to send any aid to the Prince when the latter is in danger. Unafraid of death, he is able to stiffen the backs of those much younger than himself. He is mortally wounded at the battle of Poitiers. Honorable and generous, his final thoughts are for those dependent on him.
