Lady MacBeth kill herself? Please. And Portia—you don’t think someone that intelligent would be pissed to be bait and trophy? And Juliet, well, Juliet just wants to have — sex.

Soliloquies: the lady doth indeed protest is a collection of soliloquies delivered by Juliet, Ophelia, Lady MacBeth, Portia, Kate, Desdemona, Regan, Isabella, Marina, Miranda – protesting the role given to them by Shakespeare. (Kindle, NookBook, iBook, Smashwords)

The soliloquies have been interwoven into a piece for stage, titled Not Such Stuff, which was recently performed by Venus Theatre in Laurel, Maryland:

“Deconstructing the traditional interpretations of some of the most fiercely fascinating female characters of all time, the playwright is able to “have at it” and the characters finally have their say. And oh, what tales they have to weave.” Debbie Jackson, dctheatrescene.com

Wow Chris! Great stuff. I am looking for some unique takes on Shakespeare for a Notre Dame production and just purchased your book on smashwords. Cool!

Also, any chance there is a complete written script of Not Such Stuff? I'd love to see it. I am looking for a ten minute snippet for around 4-5 middle to high school age girls. Thanks!

Carole,

Thanks so much for this! I attach "Not Such Stuff" in case it's in a
direction you want to go... As you'll see, it's the soliloquies
interwoven - some nice things happened when I did that, but it's still not a
play per se. Good theatre though, I think...

hah! just sent it, before I read this second message!

I think it might be too adult for middle school...even high school might be
a stretch, which is ironic, since many of the women are that age! (Kate,
Regan, Marina)

I've also played with a women's room set (see attached "As I the Shards
Examine").

Just realized I didn't actually attach "As I the Shards Examine" - Carole, please contact me to acknowledge you've come back here and gotten the material. I still haven't figured out how to send a message to you directly! chris
