Looking at a play to produce for small high school. Have done Love's Labour's Lost and Twelfth Night in the past. Tempest or Winter's Tale?
Tempest could work out well—depends on the number of students you have at your disposal. Much Ado would probably work well or Romeo & Juliet.

Also, Midsummer Night's Dream. The conflict and situations are clearly defined; it's short; and the humor easily translates (especially in Act V), unlike much of the more complicated wordplay in, say, As You Like It.

I'd recommend Much Ado or Midsummers - both very assessible to younger actors and casting quiet flexible for a small school.
