I just returned from an impulse trip to London to try to see the last performances of the RSC Histories cycle. I arrived with tickets to five of the eight, and managed to get returns for two others. The only play I missed was the last, Richard III, after waiting four hours in the rain hoping for a return. Still, it was an incredible experience to see the seven, and my second time seeing all the Henrys. I would say it was the greatest moment of my theatre-going life. I, having flown in from Vancouver, was not the craziest person there; people had come from all over the world to do the same thing. The mood was exultant, and very sad that it was all finishing. Many Londoners were expressing fear of history withdrawal! Just wondering if anyone else on this forum was as struck by this series as I was.
