Actually, the Oxford Shakespeare does not conflate the two editions of King Lear. Indeed, it was quite a controversial decision when it was first released, that they had treated the Folio and Quarto versions of Lear as two separate plays.

The Norton Shakespeare (1st and 2nd editions), which was based on the Oxford, presented THREE versions of King Lear: Quarto, Folio, and a Conflated Text.
