Warwick is one of King Henry’s noblemen, a loyal, reasonable and optimistic man.
He seeks at all times to reassure his master and to help his comfort, whether it be in lowering the estimates of the rebels’ strength or hushing the princes to keep the King from hearing their discussion of his coming death. He is the only member of the court to suspect that Prince Harry’s dissipation might be a deception. Despite his reassurances to the King on the matter, however, he is concerned that Harry will prove the disappointment all the other courtiers fear. He returns in Henry V.
