Henry VI, Part 1 Characters

The Earl of Suffolk (William de la Pole), of the Lancastrian party, is a young English nobleman, a friend of Somerset’s.

He captures Margaret in the wars and is absolutely smitten by her, to the extent that he proposes to marry her to his King simply so he can have her close; being married already he cannot himself wed her. What this leads to is chronicled in Henry VI, Part Two.
