The First Gentleman in Lear’s train comes to the King to announce that his horses are ready for their departure.
Seeking out Regan and Cornwall when Lear purposes to visit them, he finds that they have gone to Gloucester’s very suddenly. He sees Lear go out into the storm accompanied only by the Fool. Kent sends him to Dover to tell the French force and Cordelia what is occurring. He can later inform Kent of the French King’s return to France and Cordelia’s reaction to hearing of the ills done to her father. On Kent’s direction he goes with some attendants to find Lear and bring him to Cordelia. He is always trying to collect all the information he can.
