Marquess of Dorset is Queen Elizabeth’s son by her previous marriage, ennobled after his mother’s marriage to King Edward.
This leaves him a deep irritant to the traditional nobility, who regard him as an upstart, and to the populace, who resent his pride. He fought on the Yorkist side in the wars and was present at the killing of Queen Margaret’s son Edward. He attempts to comfort his mother after King Edward’s death. He flies England to join Richmond in France to avoid being arrested and executed like his brother and uncle after Richard takes power.
